Sunderman Conservatory Admissions

We're excited that you're considering a music degree at Gettysburg College and the Sunderman Conservatory of Music! Students interested in a music major or minor must be admitted to Gettysburg College through the College's traditional admissions process, and also accepted into the Sunderman Conservatory of Music through an audition.

Our degree programs include the Bachelor of Arts in Music, Bachelor of Music in Performance, and Bachelor of Music Education, as well as a Music Minor. The audition process [RM1.1]varies depending on the program and performance area, but typically includes an interview, a music theory exam for placement, and an audition in the student's primary performance area.
If you're interested in being considered for a Conservatory Scholarship, plan to audition during your senior year of high school. While you can still audition for a music degree program after arriving at Gettysburg, scholarship consideration is only available during the senior-year audition process.

Meet Prof. Amanda Heim

Prof. Amanda Heim of the Sunderman Conservatory of Music at Gettysburg College shares why Sunderman is such a special place to grow as a musician.

Professor Amanda Heim and a student talking to each other

"I would be remiss to not include both Prof. Avner Dorman and Prof. Russell McCutcheon as my most influential faculty mentors. I can’t begin to say all of the lessons that I’ve learned and applied from both of them. Above all, they taught me the value of a keen sense of practicality and when to leave that practicality behind."
